Our Board of Directors

Brenda Atkins

Brenda believes that the lack of employment in Haiti is one of the biggest obstacles to an individual's success.

Brenda’s relationship with Haiti and its vibrant, intelligent people started in June 2013 as a trainer for her family’s software company. They brought digital work to Haiti through a local partner and now employ 120 people in Port Au Prince.

Seeing the results firsthand of what steady employment can do for people, Brenda became interested in helping other organizations provide opportunities for employment over continuing the harmful model of creating dependence in Haiti.

“When you give employment to people, they have more pride and sense of self-worth. They are resourceful and have the ability to figure out housing, water, food, health care, and education”

Brenda joined the US the Board of Directors in 2021 and is the Chair of the Board for Haiti Mama Canada.

Duquesne Fednard

Duquesne Fednard is a social entrepreneur and social justice advocate from Haiti. Being an orphan at age 11 and coming from a large family with limited resources, he understands the daily challenges parents and caregivers face to care for loved ones. Due to "restavek" (living with), many Haitian families sent their children to live with other relatives or orphanages. Restavek in Haiti turns children into modern-day slaves without schooling or proper care. Restavek must be eradicated in Haiti, so it's an honor to join the US Board for Haiti Mama, which fights to reunite children with their families while providing dignified and meaningful care.

Duquesne's experience spans finance, management, operations, and engineering in start-ups and established companies in developed and developing countries. CEO of D&E Green Enterprises, CEO of B2D S.A., Director of Cetemoh Digital Center (CDC), Co-founder of Centre de Technologie Moderne d'Haiti (CETEMOH), Director of NYC Business Solutions at Wildcat Service Corporation,

Duquesne is an Ashden award winner, an Ashoka Fellow, a past Digicel Haiti Entrepreneur of the Year, and a member of the Clinton Foundation, European Environmental Foundation, and Toya foundation. He has a master's in International Affairs from Columbia and a bachelor's in MIS from SUNY.

Tiffany Province

Tiffany began supporting Haiti Mama from the moment our founder decided to move to Haiti. She did so because she was excited to see something different being done for “orphans” having lived and worked in an orphanage herself for a time. Tiffany started off supporting Tausha, then Haiti Mama, and next became an advocate for our disability care program. (Tiffany is passionate about disability care, having a child with body parts that work differently from herself.) In 2017, Tiffany became a board member to support the vision of the organization as a whole.

Tiffany lives in Colorado, where she was born and raised, with her high school sweetheart husband and her two boys.

Kristen Rose

This is Kristen. She is the Secretary for Haiti Mama.

She was introduced to Haiti in 2015 through her church on a mission trip. She instantly fell in love with the people of Haiti. She was a board member for 2 years before taking the position of secretary.

She believes that every child should be in a family setting if possible. She works daily with the social workers stateside to help them in their work on the ground in Haiti.

Kristen lives in Knoxville, TN with her husband and two children.
