Wilberson

Wilberson was running around the streets of Cite Soleil until he was surrendered to an orphanage by gang members in 2017 at only 5 years old. Since the closing of that orphanage, he has lived with a foster family in the Haiti Mama program. We have never been able to locate any of Wilberson’s family, so Haiti Mama is his forever family. Our goal is to help Wilberson develop the skills to support himself when he becomes an adult. The area where he is currently living with his foster family is still gang controlled and it is time for us to move him and his foster family closer to the rest of the Haiti Mama family, in our new rural location. They need financial support while we settle them into our new community and give them the opportunity for autonomy through our job creation and education programs. We are planning that it will take at least 6 months to regroup and create that independence.

Wilberson is currently 11 years old and will be going into the 6th grade this fall.
