The Fountain Project
We are on a mission to tackle poverty in Haiti, and we firmly believe that education and jobs are the key to making it happen.
Our journey has taken us to Haiti, where we've been working tirelessly for over a decade, and let me tell you, we've learned a TON along the way.
Our big dream is to help Haiti Mama become a self-sustaining non-profit organization. This incredible initiative is all about preserving and restoring families in Haiti by focusing on community social work, education, and creating job opportunities.
You might be wondering, "What's Haiti Mama all about?"
Well, we've been collaborating with them for over 7 years now. It all started when we realized that the orphanage we were funding had 7 children, but here's the kicker—every single one of them had families! These kids weren't your typical orphans; they were poverty orphans. That's when we made a pivotal decision to close the orphanage, reunite the children with their families, and empower those families with jobs so they could stand on their own two feet.
Together with Haiti Mama, we brought this vision to life. Today, all those children are happily back with their families, in their own homes, and their parents are employed, creating amazing artisan products for The Mama Box.
But here's where it gets even more exciting. We've spent years collaborating with Haiti Mama, and we believe we've cracked the code to make them self-sustaining. How, you ask? By harnessing the power of their subscription box, aptly named the The Mama Box. If we can reach 9,500 subscriptions, the entire charity would become self-sustaining! Now, how amazing would that be?
Just to give you some context, the Glam subscription box from Etsy has a staggering 3.2 million subscriptions. So, we're confident that 9,500 is not only achievable but a milestone worth aiming for.
To get there, we've got some plans in motion. We need to bring in a marketing whiz and a new executive director (shifting the current one into development) and strengthen our leadership team in Haiti. These two new roles would be located in New Orleans where Brenda will be meeting with them multiple times a week to provide guidance and ensure their success.
In addition to our increased personal donation to Haiti Mama, we'll need an additional $125,000 USD annually over the next 3 years to make this strategy a reality.
That's where you come in!
We're assembling a small, passionate group of private donors known as The Fountain. Just like the fountain represents a continuous flow of life and energy, we're building a self-sustaining model around The Mama Box. Be one of the 25 amazing individuals to commit $5k annually over the next 3 years ($15k in total) to help us achieve this incredible goal.
You'll be helping us hire the team we need to boost The Mama Box subscriptions, create jobs in Haiti, send children to school, and support our disability care program and family services. You’ll be changing the lives of thousands of people.
